Nicole Herman Lafuge has used various materials and techniques to explore the line between craft and fine art. She began her career working in the fashion industry. In her free time, she started designing and making quilts and later woven tapestries. Her interest in textiles eventually led her to a career as an interior designer.

In 2020, during the quarantine, she began making molds and casting in pewter at home to explore different functional forms like home hardware and jewelry. She more recently decided to marry her interests in textiles and metalwork through lighting. She continues to design new objects and interiors in Los Angeles.
